Lovie Nefertiti Wood
Lovie came to live with us on February 20, 2001. She was a tiny 4 lb. kitten, adopted from the Humane Society. A 4-month-old Lynx Point Siamese who lived life on her own terms, she soon let her "sister" cat, Cleo, know that SHE was top cat. Lovie was a terror to the veterinary staff, but the sweetest, most loving cat at home. She spoke three words: "no", "mom", and "out". Whenever a door was closed in the house that she thought should be open, she would sit in front of it and say, "out"!
She sensed if her people weren't feeling well, and would come and lay her paws on them to make them feel better. Fearlessly loyal, she once chased a fully-grown deer out of her (fenced-in) yard with all the temerity her five pounds could muster. The deer jumped the fence, and didn't come back.
After 14 years, 3 months, we had to tell Lovie good-bye. She was a true original, and we shall miss her every day. We like to think of her up in kitty heaven, still chasing the deer out of her yard.
