Moses

It was love at first sight. Among all his puppy brothers and sisters, Moses was the biggest and the furriest, and without question, the cutest one in the litter. When the breeders offered to let his new family choose, there was no hesitation. "I'm not leaving without him," they said, and it turned out to be the best decision they'd ever made.

Moses, affectionately known as Moe Moe, bubba, big ole boy, and thick boy, was a gentle giant with a heart as large as his 100-pound frame. This devoted companion was a lover through and through, always seeking out cuddles and affection from anyone lucky enough to be near him. Despite his substantial size, Moses harbored the sincere belief that he was a lap dog, settling contentedly into laps whenever the opportunity presented itself. But while he was all softness and sweetness indoors, Moses took his watchdog duties seriously. Any soul who dared to walk past the house knew immediately that Moses molasses was on patrol, announcing his presence with vigilant barks that let the world know he was keeping guard.

Life with Moses was full of adventure and laughter. He loved the water and spent countless joyful days splashing through Lake Michigan and other lakes whenever the chance arose. He was a regular at Grand Ravines Park, where his enthusiastic walks became cherished family traditions, and the dog park was always a destination worth the trip. The spirit of adventure extended to longboard rides and runs around Grand Rapids, where Moses was as much a companion as a passenger. Time at grandma's house was special too, a place where he could simply be loved and celebrated.

Perhaps the most telling memory of Moses's personality came when he was featured on a band album cover wearing a sweatshirt. Ten seconds after the photo was captured, Moe Moe howled in protest at the indignity of fashion. There was also the matter of his car etiquette: Moses had a peculiar habit of sitting upright in the backseat like a human, one paw resting casually on the armrest as if he were a well-mannered passenger enjoying the ride. These little quirks endeared him to everyone who knew him, making Moses not just a pet, but a personality, a presence, a best friend.

Moses brought immeasurable joy to his family and so many others whose lives he touched. He leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and countless cherished memories that will warm hearts for years to come. He will be missed forever, and no one could ever take his place.
