Obituary

Mr. Popo Hudson was born in September 2015 and he crossed over the rainbow bridge on October 23, 2026. He lived a very difficult life. When I adopted him, I walked into a double-wide trailer that had 16 other cats and one of them was pregnant. He meowed all the way home and then never stopped. In 2017, he started a domestic partnership with Chase Hudson, only for Chase to meet his demise in 2018. In 2019, he got married to Ms. Sushi Roll and in 2020 he became a deadbeat dad of 4 beautiful children. In 2023, there was a house fire. It had already been a rough year. That was the year we had a blizzard on Halloween. Mr. Popo was the only one willing to come out of the house. He spent a lot of time living in the car, but he never had to be caged. He had to deal with the elements because I wasn't allowed to bring him inside. And, because of this, I also dealt with the elements. I could never let my baby freeze. He met a wonderful woman named Jennifer Tjapkes who took him and his children in for 9 months while we tried to figure out some housing. Eventually, we all moved into Muskegon Heights. The 4 of them were stuck in 1 room for about a year. There were holes everywhere; we just wanted them safe. We finally moved away from the hood in July 2026, only for his life to be cut short. We bought this house so he could live in it. But in the end, cancer took his life. Even though he was an asshole his entire life, he deserved many more years. He deserved to retire. He deserved a chance to be a father to his children. He deserved a peaceful window. Cancer is a thief. They say, "Only the good die young." But this one was incredibly naughty. And yet... He was only 11 when God took him away. I can only think that perhaps, someone on the outskirts of Heaven just wanted a hood cat.

A final message from the one who promised to keep Mr. Popo Hudson.   "When we first met, you were meowing. And, even in your end days, you were meowing. I made a promise when I adopted you that I would never give you back to the system. I know I couldn't give you everything you deserved. But I hope that you were at least happy with what I could give you."
