Rex came into my life on April 13th,2019. I was told he was born on November 1st, 2011. He passed awayon 1/12/2026.
At the time, I wasn’t looking for a dog. It had been almost 3 years since I lost Benny the Chihuahua. I had to make the decision to have Cookie, Tico, and Benny put to sleep in a span of 28 months. Horrible decision to make, but at the time the best, as all 3 were verysick, in pain, and at the end of their life’s. When I was offered Rex, I decided to take him in and give him a home, on the spot. One of my best decisions. Rex is a Maltese and a Yorkshire terrier. He’s bullheaded, so I know he is a terrier. He was born with a deformed left front leg, but it never slowed him down. He rates at the top for the best and most loyal friend. He is a bundle of laughs and entertainment. He likes his ball, rope, and rubber bones, and he is good at playing with them.
He was very sick in 2023. Two cancer surgeries, one surgery for bladder stones, and a hospital stay, for the diagnosis of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He’s a tough little guy.
Rex is a good teacher about life. In my own way, I learned a lot from him, but there was more to learn. Rex is at the Rainbow Bridge, along with Cookie, Tico, Benny, and the rest of the dogs from as far back as I can remember. Sam the Cocker Spaniel, Ruff the Collie, Brownie the French Poodle, Archie, the first Airedale, Archie, the second Airedale, and Muffin the Cocker Spaniel.
Rex, I miss you and love you very much. I’ll see you at the Rainbow Bridge soon. There are a lot of dogs, cats, ferrets, and a pony for you to play with. Can’t wait to be with all of you guys!
Rex, R.I.P.
